REVOSHOCK II for YOKOMO YD-2/YD-4.

This is the ultimate oil damper for drift cars, evolved significantly from REVOSHOCK to deliver outstanding cornering performance through a big bore cylinder and big bore piston design.

The piston operation is exceptionally smooth, allowing the suspension to move freely without restriction, while improved oil sealing ensures consistent damper performance over long periods. Additionally, the pistons are specifically tuned with different specifications for the front and rear to match each suspension’s behavior, achieving optimal performance.

Developed and refined through extensive long-term testing, this is the ultimate oil damper for drift cars.

The piston outer diameter—an important factor that greatly affects maximizing damper capacity for generating high traction—is a large 11.5 mm high big bore size.

To minimize piston wobble during stroke, the clearance between the piston and cylinder is set to an extremely tight 0.035 mm. Furthermore, separate piston specifications have been developed for the front and rear, both newly designed as 12-hole and 16-hole pistons, achieving a significant performance improvement.

The cylinder’s inner surface is mirror-finished and coated with Axon’s proprietary “HVF coating,” formed by a durable fluorine layer, resulting in ultra-low friction.

The piston rod for REVOSHOCK II is manufactured with extreme precision, with dimensional tolerances controlled down to 0.001 mm and finished with a mirror polish.

Like the cylinder, it is coated with Axon’s proprietary “HVF coating,” formed from a highly durable fluorine layer, delivering exceptional damping performance.

In REVOSHOCK II, a newly developed diaphragm has been adopted to achieve optimal damper damping performance.

Compared to the Precision Shock Bladder, the new “Precision Shock Bladder V2” is designed to improve sealing while preventing extreme fluctuations in internal damper pressure.

As a result, the damper delivers a wide and smooth range of damping response to changes in vehicle behavior, helping to prevent sudden loss of tire grip and maintain consistent traction.

For drift car suspensions, achieving extremely low friction is essential.

In REVOSHOCK II, the double floating O-rings—originally used in the standard oil dampers of the Yokomo BD10—have been made even softer, significantly improving both low friction and sealing performance*. In addition, the size of the O-ring chamber has been revised, and a precision rod guide with a tapered contact surface against the O-ring is now standard. This optimization creates an ideal oil seal structure.

* “Sealing performance” does not mean completely preventing oil leakage. A minimal amount of oil seepage is necessary for proper lubrication of the piston rod’s sliding motion.
